Prologue

Eternity....

It was a long time...even longer than forever...but that's how long she would live. This was her destiny..to forever be the guardian of this world, the keeper of the Ginzuishou.

She was alone; her Senshi...her friends, had long since passed away. It was a shock. She'd been told she was immortal, but now the full impact of the word finally set in. Even now she found the concept hard to believe: She'd live forever..for all eternity..even when the last human on earth dropped dead...even when the universe exhausted of it's perpetual spin, she'd still be here...alone. Alone in a bleak empty space, with no one but the Ginzuishou.

Everything had taken a drastic turn when she'd defeated Galaxia. It was as if that specific event had brought into being an irreversible fate for her.

Eternal Sailor Moon gave way to Neo Queen Serenity...for good. She was now officially the Queen of earth. She'd look forward to a happy future...her life was just beginning. Thoughts of death and solitude were far from her young mind.

Then Chibi Usa was born, and her life became even more complete as she experienced life as a mother, nurturing that little life which had come from within her. She gave her very being...her soul to everything around her. Her young lover, who was now her husband and Neo-King Endymion...their daughter, of whom they'd met previously when the young child had first appeared that day from the past. And her guardian soldiers..of which she considered her friends. But her happy life came to an abrupt halt when she discovered the awful truth...

Only she was immortal.

The lives of her those close to her were only being drawn out by the crystal. In other words, those she kept close to her were being kept alive by the power of the Ginzuishou...but it couldn't make them immortal. One day their life's flame would go out, and no matter how powerful she was, she would never be able to bring them back.

Perhaps her greatest lost was the day Chibi Usa died.

She didn't know. She hadn't known that her daughter would be subjected to the same fate as the others...she just hadn't realized. The thought had never occurred to her. Everyone else had long since passed away, and except for the two of them, the Crystal Palace was empty. They were both alone. When Endymion had died, Helios, the guardian of his crystal and Chibi Usa's lover, had died as well. The two were connected, and with Endymion gone, it had only been a matter of time before Helios would die as well.

Chibi Usa had been devestated. Perhaps even more so than Usagi. "My life!!!!," she'd sobbed. "My life is just beginning!!! Why must everything be based on your destinies?"

Usagi had understood. She didn't think that anything like this could happen. How was she to know that Helios would die when her Mamo-chan did? It hurt her just as much as her daughter. She'd tried in vain, prayed to the Ginzuishou to restore Helios..to give him back his stolen life, but the Ginzuishou was silent. She understood now. Helios had been a part of Mamoru, and since Mamoru couldn't be revived, neither could Helios.

From that moment, Chibi Usa stopped living. Not physically, but the entire light went out of her body. Her will to live was gone, and it was only a matter of time before she too died.

And the following year, just like that, she lost her daughter as well.

She found the girl in the rose garden, her favorite place. She'd sank to her knees, crying, holding the body of her lost daughter. She could only hope that in some other life, Chibi Usa would be united again with her lost love, just as she had been with her Mamo-chan. Everyone deserved a chance to experience life to its absolute fullest.

She left the palace after that. She couldn't live there anymore. There were just too many memories...she couldn't handle it. She was losing her fragile grip to reality. It was then that she stopped truly being Queen. She was now a lost soul; a deity long forgotten.

I've forgotten.

She wandered the earth, trying to find peace from the demons that were haunting her.

I've forgotten my true destiny.

And that was it. She'd forgotten her true self. She'd gotten so used to life on earth; being reborn to human parents. A part of her would always be human. A part of her would always understand the loss and pain of death.

But she wasn't human.

She wasn't mortal, and now she truly realized this. She wasn't just the former Moon Princess or Neo Queen Serenity, or even Sailor Moon. She was the guardian of this world. She would always be. And even though she might forget it sometimes, she would always be reminded, because she would always be. There was no ending for her; She was the Messiah, not just of Earth...but of the universe. She was the last of a race of ancient Gods, of the titons...a desendant of Selene...

No.

She was Selene, for every Queen before her, including her mother, had possessed the essence of that ancient deity goddess, and now it was passed on to her, in it's most complete and raw form.

She was Selene..keeper of the Moon's jewel, the Ginzuishou, and the Guardian Goddess of the Earth's solar system. In her, she had the essense of Hermes, Aphrodite, Ares, Zeus, Uranus and Posidien. She would overcome any obstacle to keep the people of Earth safe.

She sighed. After centuries of being alone, she finally understood the mystery of her existence, and the weight of all those centuries took it's toll. She was exhausted.

Ginzuishou, she whispered, and the Crystal glowed. She smiled. After so many years, it already knew what she wanted, even before she knew herself.

And the Queen of Earth...of the Moon, fell to the ground, a content smile on her face. Her essence was locked into the Ginzuishou, forever sealed away, until the earth needed again the power of an ancient Goddess once more.

And while she was alseep, the future moved on.

As the centuries passed, new hero's emerged, and the famous Sailor Senshi became not but a long forgotten legend.

With the Earth forever being a target for evil, it was only a matter of time before new enemies, even stronger than those of the Dark Kingdom, discovered it. With the entrance of these new enemies, a group of fighters who had advanced to a level of fighting undiscovered by even the Senshi would always foil their plans, saving the earth and keeping the peace.

And then one day, it was announced that a tournament would be held; a tournament in which all the strongest fighters would compete. And it was during this time that the next enemy..stronger than anything even the strongest of fighters had ever faced, would emerge.

And it was then, more than five millennia later, that the Goddess of the Moon, the Messiah of Earth, awoke from her eternal sleep.

It was also during this time that another God traveled to earth.
